<p class="has-text-align-center has-large-font-size"></p>
</div></div>

<p>In the Bible, the Great Commandment is a pivotal teaching attributed to Jesus Christ, encapsulating the essence of moral living and spiritual devotion. Found in the New Testament across the books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke:&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>&#8221; &#8230;You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment&#8230; You shall love your neighbor as yourself&#8230;&#8221;(<a href="https://netbible.org/bible/Matthew+22" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Matthew 22:37-40</a>)</p>
</blockquote>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>&#8220;And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.&#8221;(<a href="https://netbible.org/bible/Mark+12" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Mark 12:30-31</a>),</p>
</blockquote>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>&#8220;And he answered, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.&#8221; (<a href="https://netbible.org/bible/Luke+10" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Luke 10:27</a>),</p>
</blockquote>

<p>this commandment comprises two fundamental principles: loving God with all one&#8217;s heart, soul, and mind and loving one&#8217;s neighbor as oneself.</p>

<p>Rooted in Jesus&#8217;s teachings, the Great Commandment is a cornerstone of the Christian faith. It emphasizes the connection between our <a href="https://prayforindonesia.org/the-key-to-loving-others-understanding-gods-love-first/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">love</a> for God and our love for humanity. Through this divine directive, believers are called to embody compassion, kindness, and selflessness in our relationships with God and fellow human beings.</p>

<p>The Bible underscores the importance of putting words into action by the principle that faith without works is dead.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>&#8220;For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.&#8221; (<a href="https://netbible.org/bible/James+2" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">James 2:26</a>)</p>
</blockquote>

<p>It teaches that genuine belief is demonstrated through words and tangible deeds that reflect one&#8217;s commitment to living out God&#8217;s teachings and commandments.</p>

<p>The Great Commandment, as found in the Bible, is a foundational teaching attributed to Jesus Christ. This commandment is explicitly found in the books of <a href="https://netbible.org/bible/Matthew+22" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Matthew (22:37-40</a>), Mark (<a href="https://netbible.org/bible/Mark+12" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">12:30-31</a>), and Luke (<a href="https://netbible.org/bible/Luke+10" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">10:27</a>). It underscores the importance of genuine love and compassion. Resulting as the guiding principles for moral conduct and spiritual devotion in the Christian faith. We see a similarity in each of these verses that tells us to love God with everything we have. As well as to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, and that there is no greater commandment than this. We will surely love our neighbor if we love God with all mind, soul, and strength.</p>

<p><a href="https://netbible.org/bible/1+John+4" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">First John 4:20</a> tells us:</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p>&#8220;If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.&#8221;</p>
</blockquote>

<p>This verse&#8217;s powerful and clear message should compel us to love God above all things. When we love God, we recognize that all things are through Him and that our love does not come from ourselves but from God. We are able to love our neighbor because &#8220;he first loved us&#8221;(<a href="https://netbible.org/bible/1+John+4" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">1 John 4:19</a>).</p>

<p></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="678" src="https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Putting-Love-into-Action-1024x678.jpg" alt="Putting Love into Action" class="wp-image-3594" srcset="https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Putting-Love-into-Action-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Putting-Love-into-Action-300x198.jpg 300w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Putting-Love-into-Action-768x508.jpg 768w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Putting-Love-into-Action-1536x1016.jpg 1536w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Putting-Love-into-Action.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>God has called us to share the gospel as an act of love for our neighbor. <a href="https://prayforindonesia.org/the-inspiring-life-of-richard-wurmbrand-a-true-missionary-hero/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Missionary</a> work is the live practice of love towards God and others in Indonesia. Missionaries have prioritized building solid relationships with local communities, from evangelizing to Indonesians and performing house visits to a simple prayer on the side of the road. </p>

<p>Engaging in acts of service and compassion, such as actively listening to the concerns and needs of the community members. As missionaries, we have tailored our efforts to address specific challenges and foster genuine connections. Through our commitment to embodying the Great Commandment in our actions, we can effectively spread love, hope, and faith in Indonesia.</p>

<p></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="685" src="https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Future-Outlook-1024x685.jpg" alt="Future Outlook" class="wp-image-3595" srcset="https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Future-Outlook-1024x685.jpg 1024w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Future-Outlook-300x201.jpg 300w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Future-Outlook-768x514.jpg 768w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Future-Outlook-1536x1028.jpg 1536w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Future-Outlook.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Given <a href="https://prayforindonesia.org/voices-of-the-faithful-christian-martyrs-in-indonesia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Indonesia&#8217;s</a> diverse cultural and religious landscape, there is substantial potential for further growth in Christian missionaries practicing the Great Commandment. As missionaries prioritize love and spiritual growth in their endeavors, they have a significant opportunity to contribute positively to the holistic development of Indonesian society.</p>

<p>By embracing the principles of the Great Commandment &#8211; loving God and loving one&#8217;s neighbor &#8211; individuals and communities can build bridges and overcome divisions. Every act of kindness, every gesture of empathy, and every display of love contributes to a ripple effect of positivity and unity. Through collective efforts fueled by genuine care and respect for one another, lasting change and transformation can be achieved. Let us continue to sow seeds of love, nurture relationships and strive toward a future where unity and compassion prevail.</p>

<p></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Conclusion-1024x683.jpg" alt="Conclusion" class="wp-image-3596" srcset="https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Conclusion-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Conclusion-300x200.jpg 300w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Conclusion-768x512.jpg 768w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Conclusion-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://prayforindonesia.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Conclusion.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>As we reflect on the importance of practicing love in our communities, let us heed the call to action to be a part of the Great Commandment. Each one of us has the power to make a difference through simple acts of kindness, compassion, and understanding. </p>

<p>Whether it&#8217;s lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need, donating to our mission work in Indonesia, or simply offering a listening ear to someone going through a tough time, our actions can profoundly impact those around us. Let us commit to embodying the spirit of the Great Commandment in our daily lives. Let&#8217;s spread love and unity wherever we go. Together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness that transforms our communities and fosters a culture of empathy and connection.</p>

<p>The Bible emphasizes the profound significance of turning words into deeds, highlighting the transformative power of aligning speech with action. The Scriptures underscore the importance of deeds as a test of words, emphasizing that actions must support words to have a lasting impact.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://prayforindonesia.org/pray-with-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Pray with us:</a></strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Pray that God may reach the entirety of Indonesia.</li>

<li>Pray that the Lord continues to touch hearts in the fields of Indonesia through missionaries.</li>

<li>Pray that every missionary in this world is shielded with the Holy Spirit of God, so that they may do the work of the Lord every day with love and fervor. </li>
