Blind Man Hears Creation Story

·

Ed and Sandy live on an Indonesian island as retirees among an unreached people group. They frequently visit friends and neighbors, building relationships and sharing the Good News as they are able. Recently, they visited a blind man, Arif, bringing him a new blanket to replace his worn out blanket. While visiting him, they played an audio version of Genesis 1 for Arif. As he listened to the creation story, he became emotional, grabbing his prayer beads and repeating some of the words he heard in the story. Clearly, the Holy Spirit was moving in Arif’s heart. Ed and Sandy hope to return soon to give Arif a little speaker with more Bible stories and one day study the scriptures with him.

Please pray for:

  • Arif’s sight to be miraculously restored – doctors have done all they can to help
  • An opportunity to study the scriptures with Arif and those around him
  • That Arif would put his faith in Jesus
  • Progress among this unreached people group

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.” Genesis 1:1-4

“Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.” Matthew 4:23-24

Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.” Matthew 15:30-31
